Fardh
Privacy Policy
Effective July 9, 2026
In short: Fardh has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. The only data that ever leaves your device is your location, sent to the AlAdhan prayer times service to calculate your prayer schedule and Qibla direction. We operate no servers and store nothing about you.
Location
With your permission, Fardh reads your device's location and sends the coordinates to the AlAdhan API, a free service operated by Islamic Network, for a purpose: calculating prayer times, Hijri calendar dates, and the Qibla direction for where you are.
- Your location is used only to service these requests. We do not store it, Fardh has no servers of its own.
- Your location is never linked to your identity, sold, shared with advertisers, or used for tracking of any kind.
- You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings. The app cannot calculate times for your position without it, but nothing else changes.
AlAdhan's own handling of requests is described in their terms.
Data stored on your device
Your preferences, calculation method, juristic school for Asr, notification settings, and recently fetched prayer times are cached locally on your device so the app works smoothly. This data never leaves your phone and is removed when you delete the app.
Notifications
Prayer notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No notification data is sent to us or to any third party.
Compass and motion
The Qibla compass uses your device's orientation sensors on-device only, to point toward the bearing returned by the AlAdhan Qibla API. Sensor data is never transmitted anywhere.
